Congratulations to Spartans Students Nick Laracuente, Ian Oates and Alex Caravella. Each trains with Jim Romeo. Nick was named 1st Team All State from Tenafly, NJ and was named Liberty League Rookie of the Year at Skidmore College! Ian from Cresskill, NJ is presently attending NJIT on a baseball scholarship! Old Tappan Senior Pitcher Alex Caravella was named 2nd Team All County last spring and will be one of the top pitchers in the state this year.

The Spartans Baseball Camp does private lessons covering all aspects of baseball and softball. Lessons are done at the Spartans Sports Academy in Closter, NJ. Our new facility is located just minutes from our summer camp location at Holy Family School in Norwood, NJ. Click for directions. We have indoor batting tunnels, a turf floor, and a regulation indoor pitching mound! We also offer video taped analysis of your mechanics.

Under certain circumstances the Spartans Baseball Camp will travel to your hometown to conduct private and small group lessons.

Want to work on your skills during the fall and winter months? We can set up a tailor made training routine to help take your game to the next level. The off season is a great time to fix any flaws and to learn and practice advanced techniques.

Our rates are considerably less than what other local batting cages charge. We've been doing private lessons for all ages for the past 12 years! We do well over a thousand lessons a year.

Private Lesson Rates: $50 per 1/2 hour.

Buddy Lesson: Bring a friend to share the lesson and save money! One hour lesson with buddy is $60 per person and a 1/2 hour lesson is only $30 per person.

Nick Laracuente, a Tenafly High School senior pitcher. Nick finished with an impressive 11-1 record and over 90 strikeouts Name 1st Team All County and 1st Team All State!
Alex Caravella. A sophomore lefty pitcher for the Old Tappan Varsity Team. Alex has emerged as the Ace of the Staff and currently has a 4-1 record. Alex pitched his team to the County Finals by beating perennial powerhouse St. Joes and he also hit a homerun that game! Alex was named 2nd Team All County!
Ian Oates, Junior at Cresskill High School. Ian is the starting Varsity Shortstop and has been so since his sophomore year. He currently boasts a .500 batting average and is one of the top hitters in the county. He was named 2nd Team All County. Ian received a scholarship to play at NJIT
Charlie Fallon, senior at Old Tappan will play this fall at University of Tampa, FL.
Vinny Lupino, a Freshman at Bergen Technical Academy was recently called up to the Varsity Team and is the starting first baseman and pitcher!
Brittany Perskin, Sophomore at Northern Valley Demarest is starting in LF for the Varsity Softball Team.
Michael Scorinci, an 9th grader at Pearl River Middle School is currently the starting Shortstop and #1 Pitcher on the JV Team!
Brooke Schmelz, a Sophomore Catcher at Bergenfield HS started JV and was called up to catch Varsity the 2nd half of the season!

Congratulations to Matthew Younghans Rockland County High School Baseball Player of the Year! Matthew is a former camper of ours and we're very proud of him. Matthew just graduate from Nanuet HS where he broke virtually every offensive record during his HS career. Matt has received a baseball scholarship to DI Hartford University! Congratulations and good luck Matt.

High Speed Video Taped Analysis

We are pleased to announce that we will now offer high speed video analysis of your mechanics whether you want to do hitting, pitching or even fielding work. We videotape you and put you into our laptop computer and we can slow your mechanics down to 60 frames per second. We will also provide you with a CD copy of your lesson to take home with you.
This is truly cutting edge technology! By seeing yourself in slow motion and in freeze frame mode, you're able to see your strong points as well as isolate your weak areas so you'll know what you need to work on. In addition, we will provide you with a detailed written evaluation with specific drills to do for improvement.

Team Training

We conduct team training for several local little leagues. Call us to set up training sessions for your team or league. We can custom tailor a program based on your teams particular needs. Whether you coach a competitive travel team and want a year round program for your team or if you are coaching a rec team and would like some extra work, we can set up a program for you.
